….The first dance, Peloponnisiakos, full of energy, lust for life, with a lyrical-sensitive middle part, was given a playful, robust performance (Nikos Skalkottas: Five Greek Dances); the second, Epirotikos 1, is playful, robust, sounding related to the Ciocârlia of our country; the third, Epirotikos 2 unfolds in slow motion, with complex harmonies preceded by a free introduction of the flute, like a Doinante pipe, later followed by the clarinet and then by the horn. The fourth, Hostianos, was performed lively, with agility and power, with the brass being supported by the timpani. The last movement, Kleftikos, was played very quickly, at a playful pace, with virtuosity and bravour. The score offered both the conductor and the orchestra the opportunity to perform a magnificent performance….
