Stefanos Tsialis conducted with luxuriant strength and visible vigour. He made full use of the enthusiasm of all the musicians and the extraordinary contributions of the wind players, offered thrilling performances bristling with Mediterranean pathos, vitality, mobility and pulsating rhythm, and superbly expressed the ‘Judaeo-Spanish’ colouring of this reading of the national school.
